Hello!!!!
I’m sorry I haven’t written anything in a bit. I’ve been busy with some personal things. ๐ฆ The good news? I got some new stuff! I also have tried to some of the items I received in the previous posts.
I guess I should start by saying, I have very sensitive skin. I also have dry skin. I’ve battled with Eczema for a while so I’ve always been kind of careful with products I use. For a long time, ever since middle school, I’ve used lotions recommended by dermatologists. Everything from Vanicream, Cetaphil, and Cerave. For the most part, they worked for me. They didn’t irritate my skin but the only thing I really noticed is that they didn’t really moisturize my skin very well. I’ve finally gotten to the point where I’ve branched out and starting trying some new moisturizers.
I started using Nivea Soft moisturizer in November. Let me tell you, I LOVE this stuff. I was browsing Target to find a “cheap” but decent moisturizer for my hands. This was the only one that stood out AND it’s made with Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E. It feels really good and it smells amazing!

Anyways! Let’s talk about the things I have tried from the previous mass of beauty products I got.
Remember this guy from the Target Advent Calender?

I tried it one day when I skipped a shower day (I HATE not showering every day, I know I know this an that good/bad for you, etc..). The reason I hate having skipped a shower day is because my hair gets pretty greasy quickly. I’m not sure why. I have really thin hair and it’s always been that way. Also, I just very picky about greasy hair.. So this Umberto Dry Lifting Powder is pretty weird to me. It’s was kind of like shaking out baby powder onto your hand… and then you rub it into your hair.
Well.. I made the mistake of not really fluffing it into the roots of my hair. I kind of just smacked it onto the top of my head. LOL I don’t know why I did that but soon realized how bad that was. I ended up running my hands through my hair and messing it up a little. I noticed the initial slap to the top of my head left some white powder there that somewhat ended up looking like dandruff (since I have dark hair). I tried to shake it out as best as I can, but as you can guess, this stuff was made to stick in your hair (like hairspray). Anyways, it acted much like hair spray too. It stiffened my hair up to I suppose “give it body”. I did basically try to use it to “ungrease” my hair or make it not look so greasy. I don’t know if I like this powder thing in general. I’d rather just use hairspray or mousse.
From the Ipsy December bag, I tried the NYX Prismatic Shadow in Fireball.
This my friend.. I was wrong about! It showed up REAL well on me. I was more a dark brick red with some orange and brown and it was awesome. It was really pigmented and worked well as a more “natural” (as can be…) eyeshadow for me. It was bold but not like if I were to wear a blue eyeshadow. I look forward to using this again!
I also ended up trying the Jersey Shore Peppermint Balm.

At first it seemed nice. I always like a minty-ness in my balms just for the tingle. (It makes me feel like it’s working. haha) Well, after a week or so using this, it lost it’s charm. I think it’s just personally, my lips/skin can’t really deal with the beeswax thing. Other beeswax balms that I’ve tried also have irritated my skin after the first few times. I was really hoping this worked…
Now for the other stuff in the Target Advent Calendar, I tried the Mayfair Body Creme.

Oh man. This stuff irritated my skin SO bad… it also didn’t help moisturize it. (Please keep in mind, just because I say something is bad, it is 100% my own opinion and it just didn’t work for me. Some ย of this might still be OK for you guy!)
I also tried the NYX Lip Cream…

Can I just say WOW! It doesn’t look like it would be as bright as it was, but it was bright! Almost like a hot pink salmon color to me! I wish I had a good picture of it when I wore it, but the lighting was going to show how BRIGHT it was.

Yup! There it is! I do like the color, but it’s something I have to prepare to use. haha Also, I have come to the conclusion (although I’m pretty sure I already knew this) that unless it’s a matte lipstick, I can’t really use it. Just the formula of other lipsticks really dries my lips and makes it peel-y. ๐ฆ
(This was like last week and my lips are FINALLY back to being almost normal/healed from the lipstick dryness..)
I’ve been so busy. Sorry it took me so long to post again. I really wanted to get this posted by New Years day!! (>_<)
I recently played another Sephora order… I know… horrible… but I had a discount code AND I need to get more concealer since I ran out of mine.
Needless to say, I ran into a little sale for the Tatcha Luminous Luxury Set…and I had to get it since I really wanted to try the Dewy Skin Mist spray.
So it comes with
Luminous Dewy Skin Mist (1.35 fl oz)
Gold Camellia Nourishing Lip Balm (.28 oz)
Aburatorigami Japanese Beauty Papers (30 sheets)
Gold-Leaf Travel Mirror
I tried both the Dewy skin mist and Gold camellia lip balm. I’m not sure what my thoughts on the Dewy skin mist is yet… I don’t really like the smell much, but it does give that dewy look. (So I guess it does what it’s suppose to??) It’s really lightweight too. I always feel like I didn’t get any on my face!
I started trying to lip balm when my lips were still recovering/healing so I don’t think I can say if it’s really good or not. I do like it though. The gold foil on top was an interesting touch and I feel bad for ruining it! haha
I’ll either have to some pictures about all the other stuff I have or maybe I should make a short video… I’ll have to see.
That’s all I have for now! Have you tried any of these products? Let me know and tell me how they worked for you! I’m also always open to hear any suggestions of products to try. (Also, I haven’t been able to really do my makeup lately so I haven’t gotten to try any of the new makeup products I’ve received…)
Be Who You Are And Never Let Anyone Put You Down!

Happy New Year! Love your review, I really like NYX lippies but I have to apply so much lip balm underneath as it can be really drying!

I love the colors that NYX has for their lippies though. I have some of their mattes which are fine for me. ๐
